Join our team as a Senior Systems Operability and Analysis Engineer. This position will be located at our West Palm Beach, FL office. This job may be filled at the level posted or at the next higher level.Working under limited general direction, the incumbent exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments while guiding the successful completion of major projects. 40 : Perform advanced concept thermodynamic design of liquid rocket engines and/or air:breathing engines to define propulsion cycles that meet functional vehicle requirements. During the development activities of these propulsion systems the systems analyst will primarily plan, conduct, and technically direct performance analyses and evaluate the steady state and transient operation of these propulsion systems. Duties may include evaluation of ground test and flight data to determine engine health and conformance to performance requirements. 40 : Plan, create, maintain, manage, and use math models of propulsion systems which characterize the thermodynamic, aerodynamic, fluid dynamic and mechanical operation of these systems. 10 : Propulsion development activities include contributing technical analyses to anomaly investigation and resolution teams. 10 : As required, provide on:site customer technical support for vehicle preparation, launch and post:flight activities.Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High academic achievement is preferred (GPA 3.2 or higher). Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:The candidate should have an educational background in heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.The candidate should have demonstrated skills in writing engineering analyses in various programming languages (FORTRAN, C++, Matlab/Simulink etc.).Good written and oral communication skills are required.Candidate must be self motivated, maintain attention to detail, and have good interpersonal skills to work effectively in team environments.Schedule flexibility to provide test support or flight support outside of normal office hours is required.10 travel required.US Citizenship Only Required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Work Environment/Physical Requirements:Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
