This is environmental public health professional work assisting the EPH Division Director by providing technical, scientific and professional guidance. Develops and recommends program objectives to the Division Director. Coordinates with local, state, and federal agencies on specific projects. Serves as a field technical advisor for zoonotic and vector:borne disease control programs. This position is responsible for continued development and management of programs to prevent and control zoonotic and vector:borne disease, including the arbovirus control program. Coordinator for the Rabies Control Program. This position is designated as a sensitive position and the position is required to maintain confidential information in accordance with the Florida Department of Health and FDOH Palm Beach County Information Security Policy, Protocols and Procedures. This position has access to the Environmental Health Data Set. Has access to HMS for DAR entries only.
Prevention and Control of Zoonotic and Vector:borne Disease : Provides technical expertise on zoonotic and emerging infectious diseases. Researches, develops and implements Best Practices for surveillance, prevention and control of zoonotic disease. Monitors journals, websites and other information sources to stay abreast of emerging zoonotic diseases and emergency preparedness issues. Acts as a technical advisor and coordinator of the mosquito:borne/arbovirus disease program. Serves as the technical advisor to management on rabies
