We offer a complete line of propulsion products for launch vehicles, missile defense, and advanced hypersonic propulsion. We are seeking a Component Product Engineer for our West Palm Beach, FL office. This is an experienced engineering position for a candidate with experience in support of development of rocket and hypersonic engine components. This position may be filled at the level posted or at the next higher level.Working under general supervision, the Engineer performs professional engineering assignments applying manufacturing and producibility knowledge to improve hardware delivery performance. The position requires complete knowledge of technical standards, theories, concepts and techniques. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy referring to established policies and procedures for guidance. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: 35 : Researches, develops and supports fabrication of rocket engine components using engineering and scientific principles. 35 : Coordinates product development from ideas through product life cycle. 20 : Supports investigation and resolution of hardware and process anomalies and issues identified by preventative action/corrective action boards or safety initiative activities. 10 : Interfaces with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization and company objectives. Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline and 2 years of related experience OR a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong academic background with coursework in rocket engine design and related coursework is required. Strong communication, technical presentation, teamwork, and Microsoft Office skills are also required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship). Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information. Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Work Environment/Physical Requirements:Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
