The Director of Construction will oversee the planning, organization, scheduling, and execution of shell (structural) construction on all jobsites across southeast Florida, ensuring quality standards and product delivery dates are met. This position formulates company policies and ensures adherence.

Essential Functions:

Hire, train, evaluate, discipline, coach and terminate Area Managers, Project Superintendents and skilled labor. Delegate and assign work to Area Managers and Project Superintendents
Ensure Area Managers and Project Superintendents adhere to company policies & procedures, including but not limited to production management, scheduling, safety and job scope definitions.
Source, negotiate rates, and assist with workforce planning of subcontracted labor
Analyze construction project plans to determine construction requirements, recommending value engineering and alternative construction techniques
Attend pre-construction meetings
Review and critique construction drawings, bid documents, and project specifications to fully understand a project’s scope of work
Review project plans in order to ensure that estimated materials are sufficient; analyze material usage with Area Manager and Project Superintendent during initial job setup to adjust material packages as needed
Serve as main contact for job site problem resolution between builders, other trades, inspectors, sub-contractors and CSCI employees
Ensure Area Managers and Project Superintendents are meeting customer requirements (deadlines, quality, safety, etc) and serve as an additional customer relations contact between the company and its customer base
Develop and sustain effective long-term business relationships with people internally and externally to create value and influence customer buying patterns and to increase sales revenue growth and market share
Investigate and resolve worker problems when Area Managers and Superintendents cannot resolve independently
Perform safety site inspections and implement corrective actions as needed; champion USI’s commitment to safety
Communicate daily with all levels of management and different branch departments in regards to any aspect of a particular project
Process vendor invoices and contractor applications for payment 

Additional Skills & Experience

Estimating experience
Undergraduate degree in Construction Management
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
