Job DescriptionMortgage Loan OriginatorMLOs are ultimately responsible for the customer experience throughout the mortgage origination process by guiding the customer through the process of qualification, structuring a deal, underwriting, rate-lock, closing and funding. We are looking for intelligent, hard-working, passionate individuals that want to be part of something very different. You will not be micromanaged; but you will need to meet specific expectations and it will be entirely up to you to make sure that this happens.Responsibilities:Evaluate initial loan applications and documentation to confirm credit worthiness and ability to repayComplete initial analysis of applicants' credit, income, by verifying initial decisions and communicating this to the applicantCommunicate critical origination timeline, product, pricing and underwriting requirements to all applicantsPerform outbound calls to applicants and work with the applicant to ensure receipt of required documentation critical to successfully move loans through the sales process to fundingCommunicate suspense, loan approval and/or declinations to ensure customer is informed alwaysCoordinate and manage realtors, builders, mobile signers and other third partiesOversee loan process to ensure timely delivery and content communication with borrower of initial disclosures, changed circumstance re-disclosing, delivery of closing disclosure and closing documents.Improve upon and refine sales and customer service knowledge and techniques via ongoing trainingMaximize the number of qualified loans funded monthlyWork all leads presented to you (to show somehow that we provide leads- they don't have to get themActively work new leads provided with urgency Qualifications and Requirements:Professional demeanor and strong work ethic with the ability to establish and build working relationships with applicants, guiding them from initiation to successful completion of the loan processDriven by high performance in a high expectation commission environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsAggressive pipeline management skillsBackground or previous experience in financial services and sales in an inbound or outbound call centerSolid time management skills and the ability to prioritize activitiesAbility to establish and maintain working relationships with team membersMust be computer literate with above average proficiency in MS Office and internet skillsGreat telephone skills including communicating clearly and effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to learn and navigate multiple systems / applications / workflowsAbility to exhibit grace under pressure, while successfully navigating stressful work assignments or situations efficiently and effectivelyAbility to meet critical deadlines under stressful conditionsSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyAble to move between tasks and duties quickly and efficientlyExcellent organizational skillsExcellent prioritization and time management skills Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:(1 year +) successful origination of loans or processing; residential mortgage loan experience preferred but not required.Strong knowledge of federal, state and/or regulatory requirements of mortgage lendingOverall good knowledge and understanding of mortgage product, pricing and underwriting guidelinesConsultative sales skills in a mortgage sales organizationHigh volume transaction processing experience exhibiting the ability to follow written procedures and processes with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Education:BA degree desiredMust be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), and have passed the Nationwide exam, with the willingness and ability to become licensed in additional states after employment starts, at the company's expense Company DescriptionEssex Mortgage was founded in 1986 as a privately held mortgage lender, were one of the largest mortgage bankers with a reputation of offering a wide range of affordable loan programs.
