Description
The Business Development Leaders primary role is to evaluate and assess contract manufacturing and licensing opportunities with biopharma customers to align internal capabilities and services with the customers outsourcing needs.

Duties and Responsibilities
Identify appropriate targets and approach for determining their interest in using SCI as a development and/or manufacturing partner.
Assists in gathering market intelligence by reporting noteworthy information regarding customers, competitors and the marketplace. Monitors and reports on market and competitor activities and provides relevant reports and information.
Respond to incoming leads and inquiries from multi:sources, and qualify through business analysis, customer evaluations and strategic fit
Write/Review contracts and guide drafting in conjunction with the Legal and Finance Departments.
Act as the business
development/transaction interface with internal transaction team members and potential partner companies.
Engage in the preliminary selling stage of the sales cycle:prepare baseline price proposals and scope of work as part of initial qualification process
Obtain appropriate business function input and required internal approvals to execute transactions.
Work in close collaboration with Project Management and Sales and Operations Teams to identify appropriate opportunities.
Present the value proposition for SCIs capabilities and services to customers, and facilitate on:site capabilities presentations and tours
Plan and manage business portfolio according to an agreed market development strategy and sales plan. Maintain and develop existing and new clients using the most current selling practices and relevant functional department liaisons to optimize service quality, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and client/prospect contact and conducts self with the highest professional and ethical standards. Frequently visits assigned accounts and proactively approaches customers to acquire new projects and products.
Increase the financial return of each project by maximizing each lead and educating the client on all of the solutions available through SCI.
Use customer and prospect contact activity tools and systems, and updates relevant information, including proposals held in these systems.
Prepare and follow:up on proposals to customers including pricing and commercial strategy in:line with business goals and targets. Responsible for all facets of the commercial negotiation of contracts.
Actively participate on product teams from inquiry through commercialization; specifically takes lead role on all commercial discussions; negotiates from CDA to contract execution.
Ensure a successful transition to Project Management when appropriate, while maintaining strong client relationships leading to future business development opportunities




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong technical background and experience in pharmaceutical product management and/or development with a focus on business and transaction support.
:Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry
:Proven leadership skills and the ability to understand financial analytics,, prioritize multiple tasks, and drive projects to completion
:Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry and its key players
Demonstrable knowledge and working experience in a cGMP environment.
