Junior Applications DeveloperJoin the leading manufacturer of cosmetics in North America with this exciting opportunity in the cutting edge field of IT. As a Junior Applications Developer you will gain the experience and knoledge of a world class organization spanning across multiple sites. I. MISSIONA. Ensure availability of critical computer systems up-time to be 99.5%B. Ensure initial response time of IT requests to be less than 4 hoursC. Minimize the number of reports and ensure they relate to business KPIsD. Ensure quality training for all end-usersE. Plan and administer resources, execute, and complete special projects according to deadline and within budget II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Apply technical knowledge and expertise for the development, implementation and support of business functionality2. Develop and document detailed functional and technical specifications3. Follow standard System Development Lifecycle and documentation guidelines4. Design, develop, test, implement, and support Linux and Oracle integration applications that provide vital and current information from Oracle that is used for monitoring departmental KPI's, automating reports in a CVS output format, and improve overall business functionality.5. Design, develop, test, and deploy Oracle forms, reports, alerts, Linux shell scripts and interfaces using standard development tools.6. Assist in developing and supporting cloud based applications to support the business mission, goals and objectives (eg: PODIO, Autodesk PLM 360, Oracle Sales Cloud, etc.).7. Adhere to standard compliance procedure for code testing and migration8. Create test cases and conduct unit testing on developed code and participate in the interface and system testing9. Support Oracle applications through issue resolution and provide guidance to key users using the Help Desk software to ensure issue cause and resolutions are fully documented.10. Provide input to the development of project plans and timeliness in order to meet established delivery dates.11. Provide subject matter expertise in supporting and developing MS-Office desktop solutions providing not only technical expertise, but technical integration expertise.12. Provide Oracle SQL training in support of mentoring other team members as required.13. Document and contribute to the IT FAQ database.14. Provide functional support and training when necessary to Oracle Applications users.15. Provide secondary desktop support and training as necessary to the business users.16. Provide excellent customer service and support for all technical solutions.17. Support the technical subject matter expert for all Oracle Applications and Oracle Portal. Including but not limited to coaching and mentor other team members on various technical tools.18. Assists and performs daily IT log tasks and monitors for any exceptions that need to be addressed. 19. Documents and communicates all daily log task exceptions to appropriate support team expert.20. Assists in entering and maintaining system related configurations (CMDB) into the IT Operations Management System (eg: OTRS).21. Proposes and implements ideas to simplify daily activities in the PU offices area by leveraging IT.22. Is available 24x7 for any critical Oracle application system related problems that may arise.23. Perform other essential functions as assigned.III. SCOPEA. Provide technical Oracle applications forms, reports, and interface development and maintenance support to ensure business continuity and growth.B. Provide end user support to assist in resolving daily IT requests from the end users.C. Participates in special projects as directed by IT DirectorIV. KEY INDICATORSA. Average service requests closed per day/month/year by support analystB. Number of successful Oracle applications forms, reports, or interfaces deployed or maintainedC. Educationa) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and / or equivalent job experience2. Work experiencea) Minimum 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. b) Experienced with a variety of the Oracle Applications development concepts, practices, and proceduresc) Intermediate SQL and PL/SQL knowledged) Oracle Reports, Forms, and Interfaces development experiencee) Minimum two years' experience and use of TOAD or Oracle SQL Developerf) Minimum two years' experience of SQL Tuning skillsg) Java experience desirableB.
