Overview: The primary focus of the Income Tax Analyst is compliance related to corporate federal, multi-state and local income taxes including interaction with tax agency personnel to resolve discrepancies. The position will have secondary responsibilities related to assisting the with the company's income tax provision (ASC740 & FIN 48). This position plays a major role in the output of the organization by contributing to the full compliance with all federal, state and local statutory tax requirements.Business Contributions:The output generated by the Income Tax Analyst includes preparing federal, state and local income tax returns and related income tax work papers. Five major business contributions the Income Tax Analyst provides to Oasis Outsourcing are:Timely preparation and filing of all applicable federal, state and local income tax returns, estimates and extensions.Timely and accurate resolution of assigned tax audits and notices with tax agencies.Assist with the preparation of the company's income tax provision for financial statement purposes.Maintenance of tax basis fixed asset information including depreciation calculations in Pro FX program and Excel.Other Ad-hoc tax related projects as assigned.Essential Functions:Prepare federal, state and local income tax returns and supporting documentation.Successfully resolve all assigned state and local tax notices or inquiries from tax authorities plus assist with tax audits as needed Prepare and remit quarterly estimated payments and extensions.Preparation of work papers to support the company's income tax provision. Prepare final provision to return reconciliations and NOL carry forward schedules.Provide support to payroll tax and regulatory departments as needed.Maintain tax calendar and other miscellaneous duties in support of income tax filings.Research pertinent tax matters and stay updated on tax law changes.Interfaces and Interactions:Internal: Accounting, Payroll Tax, IT, Regulatory Qualifications External: State and local tax authorities, vendorsPerformance Standards:Income Tax Analyst performance is evaluated by:Ability to prepare accurate federal, multi-state & local income tax returns in accordance with the tax calendar deadlines.Ability to effectively handle income tax depreciation, goodwill amortization, apportionment, book/tax differences and income tax provision workpapers.Work effectively with various data processing software or applications including One Source, Super Forms, Davison HRP and Excel. Knowledge:Must maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local income tax statutes and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office, One Source and other tax software applications required.Skills:Ability to prepare tax returns, estimated payments, and income tax provision work papers.Ability to accurately organize and maintain tax documents and information.Ability to comply with tax agency and management assigned deadlines.Proven computer skills and ability to attain a high level of skill using Microsoft products and other tax software applications.Experience:Three plus years of tax related experience with a CPA firm or large multi-state corporation.Some experience with income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes and other taxes and reports generally handled by a Corporate Tax Department.General accounting and financial statement experience.
